Makay Nature 2010 n°2

  • Summary: The Makay Nature 2010 N°2 mission, one of the largest biodiversity inventory missions ever carried out, used a helicopter to study some of the Makay’s most inaccessible areas and to complete the studies begun in January 2010.
  • Number of scientists: over 85 people at the base camp, including almost 40 scientists
  • Period: 10 November 2010 and lasted until 20 December 2010
  • Results:
    • More than 2,000 species collected, including more than 80 new species
    • New cave paintings discovered and over 500 identified
